Personal action choices and motion
The actions you choose, the completion marks you add and your motion preference are saved in this browser. The saved action IDs and completion records stay on your device and are not counted as verified global participation. With the separate Analytics permission below, generic interaction events can be counted without sending those IDs or records. Clear them using “Clear my choices” or your browser’s site-storage controls.
Community contributions
The community form sends your contribution type, theme, message, optional nickname, optional region and optional source link to Netlify for storage and review. No email is requested. The hosting and form provider may also process technical connection information for delivery and spam prevention.
The separate publication-permission checkbox is optional. Only approved contributions with permission can be displayed publicly, using your nickname or “Anonymous”. Do not include private details about other people. Community guidelines.
Contact and email-update requests
Contact forms collect the information you enter so the project can review and respond. The updates form records your email, request type and consent. It does not send an email or create an automated mailing service. Approved future updates are a separate editorial process.
You can request that action emails stop through the updates page or ask about removal using contact. Your email is not shown publicly. Data should be retained only while needed for the requested response, review or subscription and related abuse prevention.
Optional Google Analytics
Analytics loads only after you accept it. It helps measure visits, page views, traffic sources and generic clicks for choosing an action, marking one complete, opening sharing and a successful HTTP response to a form request. Custom events do not include action IDs, messages, names, email addresses or saved action records. Analytics may process its standard technical and page information. Counts describe website interactions, not verified real-world outcomes or proof that a form was stored. Previous consent is requested again for this expanded description; earlier actions are not sent retrospectively. Rejecting Analytics does not prevent participation. Reopen “Privacy choices” to change your choice.
Videos, books and the existing poll
Video players open only when you follow a link to the original source. Some preview images load from the original publisher or its media provider, which receives technical connection information such as your IP address when the image loads. Following a video or book link opens that provider’s site, whose own terms and privacy settings apply. The existing poll is hosted by StrawPoll and is separate from action progress.
Dashboard data and advertising
The dashboard may store public indicator data and the selected region locally to reduce repeated downloads. Its data-source checks are separate from Analytics. AdSense code is retained on evidence articles, individual country and indicator profiles, the methodology page and the dashboard. The action, community, contact, directory and service-request pages do not load that advertising code. Advertising depends on Google approval and applicable consent configuration. This notice does not itself configure Google’s advertising consent service.
Questions and removal
Use the contact form for privacy questions or to identify a published contribution you would like reviewed for removal. Avoid including identity documents or other sensitive information.
